The Quarterly aquatic animal disease (QAAD) reporting system for the Asia-Pacific region developed and implemented jointly by NACA/FAO/OIE, is one of the key activities of NACA?s regional aquatic animal health management program. The goal of regional disease reporting is to reduce the economic impact of aquatic animal diseases and minimize the risk of regional and international spread of pathogens. Systematic and transparent regional disease reporting will assist to reduce risks of aquatic animal diseases and promote responsible trade. The benefits of disease reporting for a participating country are many. Participating countries stand to benefit in terms of international trade. Because of their commitment to regional disease reporting, they also attract international support to strengthen their national capabilities in aquatic animal health management. 509 KB.
