Dear All,
I have knottiest that this webpage are concentrating on issue/forum regarding fish farming for human consumption. But after spending some time going throw the information I found out that there are some people are quite interested in ornamental fish farming as well (me my self also are planning to venture into this ind as well/ in stages). The ornamental fish industry is covering in fresh water, marine fish/coral and shrimps etc. But as a person who has no idea of the markets behavior and any aquaculture farming experience like me I believe if there is a forum only covering ornamental fish farming will be good help as more people can provide more information sharing. Thank you. Best regards, Edmund Chong

Hi Edmund
Thanks for your feedback. We've been thinking about establishing an ornamental fish section of the site for some time. We don't currently have any projects in this area, but I agree that it is quite an important area of aquaculture. It also has some attractive properties (such as the potential to produce a valuable crop from very small areas, low feed and investment costs etc). So we will set up a discussion forum on ornamental fish and trial it for a while to see how it goes. As our staff are not heavily involved in this area, we will be looking for members of this site to provide feedback and answers to the questions people ask in the ornamental fish forum. The new ornamental fish forum is here.

Dear Simon,
I am very glad to hear that and will check out the new forum. Hope in the future I can contribute in the forum as well because now I am still a beginner and still need a lot of guidance. Thank you. Br, Edmund Chong

hi
1. Match the fish with an appropriate home, which could be a Fish Bowl, an Aquarium with or without a heater, or a Pond. 2. Getting Started. The first few days of starting a Fish Bowl, Aquarium, or Pond are the most risky and stressful for the fish. Reduce this risk by following the advice given in this site. 3. Change 20% of the water twice a week. Use bottled drinking water for Fish Bowls and tap water for Aquariums and Ponds. 4. A least once a month give your fish's home a good cleaning. 5. Twice a day feed your fish the correct floating food, so they get plenty to eat. Be sure all the food is eaten, and none of the food is left to pollute the water. 6. Every day look carefully at your fish for Signs of Stress and Disease. If you see Signs of Stress and Disease, immediately give your fish the Recommended Treatmen From Micaljacks Visit About Fish

Edmund, I've tried ornamental fish farming before but due to lack of knowledge, my fishes died(sad). After my first failed attempt, I made sure that my new fishes have a clean fresh water every twice or even thrice a week. Water is their life so it is the most important thing to consider.
Simon, thanks for sharing the new ornamental fish farming. Will definitely check it out after I research about Pompano in this site. I found a lot of forums about it and they will surely help me. Regards, Mae

Actually i am currently gathering information about Goldfish a rather uniq species such as Ranchu, Jikin and Wakin/common goldfish(sometime you need to start from the basic) where they have uniq body/head shape and colours. Thank you. Br. Edmund Chong
