Better management practices have proved to be a highly effective tool for the Indian shrimp farming industry. Work to extend adoption of the practices is ongoing and in this view a national workshop was held at the Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture, 16-18 May, Chennai, India.
The workshop discussed scaling up strategies to extend the concept to new areas and to involve more farmers and identify lessons learned that can be applied elsewhere.
The ASEM Aquaculture platform promotes dialogue and networking in sustainable aquaculture development between the European Union and Asia. The major aim of the project is to develop a strong "community of practice" to facilitate sustainable aquaculture development in both regions. [More...]
